The annual ICA Fundraising Gala, now in its third year, is becoming a highlight of the cultural calendar, attracting a glittering array of artists, fashionistas, film stars and musicians. This year is set to be just as raucous, so if you want to impress someone special this would make a glamorous date.
An all-star cast of speakers including Bob Geldof, Janet Street Porter and Rory Bremner will entertain guests with witty speeches as they dine on a gourmet three course feast. Dinner is followed by an auction of 'money can't buy' prizes such as commissioning a portrait by Poppy and Daisy de Villeneuve, original artwork by Yoko Ono and Nan Golden and a VIP trip to Paris in your own private jet with backstage passes to see U2 in concert.
And if all that hasn't got you rushing to book a table, there is also the free-flowing Veuve Clicquot to consider and the chance to mingle with the likes of Elle Macpherson, Kevin Spacey, Jade Jagger and Henry Holland. Guests typically party into the early hours at the exclusive after party with bespoke cocktails and special guest DJs.
It doesn't get much more glamorous than this, so what better way is there to beat the recession blues? And you will be helping emerging artists too. Proceeds from the auction will go towards the ICA New Commissions Fund, allowing new talent to produce work for exhibition.
