Apsley Tailors was founded in 1889 and remains owned by a member of the founding family. For many years we were tailors for the British military, and diplomatic service, stationed in Hong Kong and still dress many senior figures. We are a solely bespoke tailoring company with no off-the-peg clothing and all garments are made by hand.
We have been in our showroom at 13 Pall Mall for several years and also have a growing number of clients in New York, where we recently started operating out of Soho House.
While not in the business of offering cheap tailored clothing Apsley does offer exceptional value for money. For example, a £2500 suit from Savile Row, that takes fourteen weeks to build and often requires three fittings, will cost around £1000 at Apsley and take four weeks with one or two fittings. The quality will be exemplary in both cases.
The showroom holds a vast range of the finest fabrics from Scabal, Holland & Sherry, Ermenegildo Zegna and Loro Piano to Charles Clayton, Dormeuil and Wain Shiell.
It's not just about suits either. We hold thousands of cloth samples for shirts, overcoats, smoking jackets, morning coats, tweeds, dinner jackets, skirts and even material for the perfect pair of corduroy trousers. We can even create bespoke jeans and, for women, the perfect white shirt. We often make copies of our client's favourite items that have worn out.
With Apsley you really can afford to have most of your clothing tailored and, as anyone who has tried bespoke knows, there really is no comparison. A bespoke shirt from Apsley, for example, is the same price as a shirt from Thomas Pink.
And as you will see, the experience in our showroom is no less refined than that offered on Savile Row. We even operate as a gallery for young aspiring artists.
We also offer a visiting tailors service, travelling to the offices of local businesses.
